The meeting will be held in Marseille-Luminy campus on 7 April-10 April 2015. The meeting is co-sponsored by the MISTRALS project, MIO, CNRS, IFREMER, OT Med Labex, Region PACA and Aix Marseille University.

Objectives

The general objectives of the MERMEX workshop is to strengthen the links and knowledge exchange, to prepare next MERMEX actions, future organization at national and foreign levels as well as to foster collaborations within the MERMEX community. It will be the opportunity to assess the achievements of the program, both in terms of data collected and scientific studies, against the original objectives of the project. Running over 4 days, the program will mainly consists of plenary sessions with solicited talks from WP leaders, associated MERMEX projects oral and poster sessions. Main results of WP research will be presented by WP leaders and specific sub-projects leaders of each WP. Global synthesis of MERMEX as well as future organization for 2015-2020 will be presented by MERMEX PIs. MERMEX sister projects as well as associated projects (Envimed, LABEX, AMIDEX) will be presented by respective PIs. Trans conclusion between different MISTRALS projec  will be presented.

To reach the MIO:

- From the Marseille-Provence Airport

Three solutions :

- Take a taxi to reach the Luminy Campus site

- Using public transportations :

    • Take the bus between airport and Saint Charles railway station
      (Shuttle every 30 minutes between 6h20 and 22h40)
      Approximative journey length : 40 minutes
    • Take the metro from Saint Charles station till "Rond Point du Prado" (line 2, direction "Sainte Marguerite. Dromel")
    • Take bus 21, till the terminus (Luminy)
      (Buses circulate every 10 minutes between 5h15 and 20h30 weekdays, are very rare on sunday and inexistant during evenings)
      Approximate journey length: 40 minutes

- By car (car rental) :

    • Follow D20 in direction of Marseille
    • Continue on D9, and N113 always in direction of Marseille
    • Take A7 highway, then turn on A55 - Direction Vieux-Port, La joliette
    • Take the Vieux-Port tunnel, then at the exit, use the toll tunnel (Prado-Carénage) - direction Aubagne-Toulon
    • At the tunnel exit (use exit number 2), take the street "rue de Pologne" (200m), reach the Rabateau boulevard (keep the right lane of the plateform), and follow to the "Rond point du Prado" roundabout.
    • Use "avenue Michelet" (located on your left) till the Mazargues obelisque (Road sign from the Obelisque).
    • Continue straight to the Luminy campus (6.3 km)

- From the Saint Charles railway station

Three solutions :

- Take a taxi to reach the Luminy campus site

- User public transportation :

    • Take the metro from Saint Charles station till "Rond Point du Prado" (line 2, direction "Sainte Marguerite. Dromel")
    • Take bus 21, till the terminus (Luminy)

- By car (car rental) :

    • Use the “Cours Lieutaud” street on about 2 km
    • Take right “Boulevard Baille”
    • At the round-about (Place Castellane) turn left on “Avenue du Prado”
    • Continuetraight till the Mazargues obelisque (Road signs from the Obelisque).
    • Continue straight to the Luminy Campus (6.3 km)

- With public transportation from the city center

- If you are located near the "Vieux Port",

    • Take the metro from the Vieux Port station till Castellane (line 1, direction "La Timone")
    • Then take bus 21, till the terminus (Luminy)

- Near "Rond point du Prado"

    • Take bus 21, till the terminus (Luminy)

- By car

-Arrival from A7 highway (North), Berre/Marignane section :

    • Take the A55 highway (autoroute du Littoral) - Direction Vieux-Port, La Joliette
    • Take the Vieux-Port tunnel, then at the exit, use the toll tunnel (Prado-Carénage) - direction Aubagne-Toulon
    • At the tunnel exit (use exit number 2), take the street "rue de Pologne" (200m), reach the Rabateau boulevard (keep the right lane of the plateform), and follow to the "Rond point du Prado" roundabout.

    • Continue straight to the Luminy campus

- Arrival from the A50 highway (East) :

    • At the highway end, take the direction of Mazargues. At the roundabout, take back the A50, and use exit number 2 to reach boulevard Rabatau by the "rue de Pologne" street (keep the right lane of the plateform), and follow to the "Rond point du Prado" roundabout..
    • Use "avenue Michelet" (located on your left) till the Mazargues obelisque (Road sign from the Obelisque).
    • Continue straight to the Luminy campus

General information

The MERMEX workshop will take place in the new M I O Mediterranée building in Aix Marseille University, Luminy campus; France.

The MERMEX/MISTRALS group, IFREMER and M I O laboratory will organize it. Daily lunches, coffee breaks and welcome reception are offered by MERMEX organization. Travels, accommodation and diners will be in the charge of the participants.
